Beowulf is a courageous warrior who took part in numerous battles and was a hero of the Geats. He came to the aide of Hrothgar and was able to battle Grendel, who was terrorizing the people in the mead hall. Beowulf is able to battle Grendel, Grendel's mother, and a dragon. The battles occur separately, with the dragon battle happening many years after the previous two. The three pictures depict Beowulf in different ways. The first illustration shows Beowulf as a strong and serious man. He is wearing pieces of armor that will serve as protection in the battles. He is carrying an axe and appears to be larger in size than the average man:

The second image (above) is a more modernized picture of what Beowulf may have looked like. He is a strong man with visible muscles and a serious look on his face. He is holding his signature sword, but is missing the metal armor that he was wearing in the drawing above. This picture was from, and shows what the actor looked like in the film, Beowulf.

The third image of Beowulf (above) shows him fighting Grendel. Beowulf does not appear to be wearing any armor or be holding a sword. This image is from and shows Beowulf tearing Grendel's arm off. This picture differs from the first where Beowulf was wearing a great deal of metal for protection.
